25 years ago today, NINE-TEN Restaurant & Bar welcomed its first guests. What began in 2001 as a vision for ingredient-driven California cuisine has grown into one of La Jolla's most beloved dining destinations.

Over the past quarter century, we've had the privilege of welcoming generations of guests to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, promotions, reunions, and countless everyday moments around our tables. Along the way, we've earned incredible recognition, including distinction from the California MICHELIN Guide. But our greatest honor has always been the relationships we've built with our guests, our local farmers and purveyors, and the remarkable team members who have made NINE-TEN what it is today.

And for 23 of those 25 years, Executive Chef Jason Knibb has been the creative force behind our kitchen, helping shape the restaurant's identity through his unwavering commitment to seasonal ingredients, thoughtful cuisine, and culinary excellence. His leadership has been instrumental in making NINE-TEN the restaurant it is today.

This reel is a small look back at 25 years of unforgettable dishes, familiar faces, and cherished memories. To everyone who has dined with us, worked alongside us, supported us, and celebrated with us over the years, we thank you. For 25 years, NINE-TEN has had the privilege of welcoming guests to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, engagements, holidays, and countless everyday moments that become lasting memories. Sharing exceptional food, raising a glass with friends, and enjoying meaningful conversation never goes out of style. As we celebrate our own 25th anniversary this month, we're especially grateful for the guests, local community, farmers, artisans, and team members who have been part of our journey.

We are honored to be named Best Hotel Restaurant: Critic's Pick in the San Diego Magazine 2026 Best Restaurants Awards. Even more meaningful were the words shared by editor Troy Johnson in his opening article:

"My first tasting menu in 2007 at NINE-TEN, one of the most memorable meals of my life..." He went on to describe Chef Jason Knibb as "one of the best chefs this city's ever seen" and reflected on a meal that forever changed the way he thought about food.

For 25 years, Chef Jason and our culinary team have been dedicated to creating thoughtful, ingredient-driven dining experiences that celebrate the very best of Southern California. To have that commitment recognized by San Diego Magazine (and remembered so vividly nearly two decades later) is truly humbling. The Prospect Street in San Diego can be reached by public transport through the San Diego Trolley system. The Green Line connects Old Town Transit Center to the Convention Center and Gaslamp Quarter stations, which are both within walking distance of Prospect Street. Alternatively, one can take a bus to La Jolla Cove via Route 30 or Route 34.

If driving, take I-5 North and exit at La Jolla Parkway. Turn left onto Torrey Pines Road then turn right at the next stoplight onto Prospect Street. There is limited street parking available on Prospect Street and surrounding areas but paid parking lots are also available nearby for convenience.
