Every Thursday & Friday we have specialty Brioches and scones. The flavors differ each week but we can always guarantee there are both sweet and savory options available. Featured in this image is an “Elote” styled brioche with corn, red pepper, and cheese. Absolutely delicious… We highly recommend getting them early when they’re fresh or heating them up. Better Than Pop is popping up at Genteel to make your weekend a little better 🌞
We’re teaming up with Better Than this Saturday for one full day of giving back and drinking better.
🟡 10am — Neighborhood trash pick-up, meet us at Genteel. First 20 people get a Better Than Pop x Genteel gift bag.
🟠 All day — Our collab drink menu drops. Three limited-run specialty drinks made with Genteel and Better Than Pop, and $1 from every sale goes to San Diego Rescue Mission.

This next month we are excited to share a washed coffee from Yosniyom Coffee Farm. This coffee falls under our cozy category; to us it tastes like chocolate, honey and pineapple. While Yos is known for his experimental coffees we find his tradition process is equally as good. Justin plans on visiting Yos in Thailand early next year to take part in a three day hands on course about coffee processing. He might even be bringing the family :)

Our specialty espresso option has transitioned. We are now using a honey natural from our friends in Costa Rica Hacienda Sonora. We’ve partnered with producer Diego Guardia for the past few years offering this coffee on espresso and things adjacent.
Currently this is used as our “Specialty Espresso” embodying a sweet and light profile. We recommend trying it just as an espresso or with a dash of milk.
Oh and yea if you’re stopping by we are currently carrying scones and brioches from our local baker. We have a handful of sweet and savory options that pair fantastic with our short.

We are so proud of our friends at Casa Del Lobo on their new space! When Christine and Saul come to use a few months back looking for a coffee partner we immediately knew this was going to be something special. They’ve put in so much hard work, and with a new born no less!! Honestly so impressed! Go show them some love, check out their ceramics, and enjoy some coffee roasted by yours truly.

It was about this time last year we had the opportunity to visit our producers based in Perú. It was wonderful getting to experience some of the beautiful landscapes and practices that often go unseen by many in the industry.
We thought this would be a great time to announce a coffee transition. We’ve used the remainder of the “La Osa” which was produced by our friends in this carousel over at COOPAFSI - since running out of La Osa we have implemented the Finca Santa Estela (Finca Santa Estela ). Another tasty profile featured in our “Classic” profile.

- House Espresso: Peru, La Osa - a wonderful coffee from our friends COOPAFSI
- Secondary Espresso: Mexico, Finca Santa Cruz - the COE Winner thanks to Algrano ; a honey gesha surprise (VERY LIMITED)
- Batch: El Salvador, Finca Colombia - a well balanced clean cup. Good smooth coffee.
- Pour Over: Ethiopia, Adorsi Yirgacheffe - we’ve talked about this coffee a lot. It’s also a huge fan favorite. If you haven’t do yourself a favor and try this while it’s still here. You’ll understand the hype.

This Summer we are taking a different approach to our Seasonals… Crafted and inspired by the heritage of our team Alondra, Becky, and Edwin brought nostalgic flavors to our menu. These recipes and flavors are rooted in things they love and remember 🤞
Summer Seasonals:
-Sana! Sana!
House-made cucumber-lime soda inspired by a classic summer agua fresca. Insanely refreshing… (Slide 1&2)
- Señor Palmer
Chamoy infused Lemonade with your choice of Peach Black Tea or Cold Brew. Topped with Tajín. (Slide 3&4)
- Machita Ensalada
A sparkling matcha inspired by Salvadoran Ensalada. Flavored with pineapple, apple and topped with pineapple cold foam. (Slide 5&6)
- Beso de Mazapán
A blend of Mazapán and Chocolate inspired by the nostalgic classic De La Rosa. A sweet, nutty and pleasantly decedent addition to any espresso based drink. (Slide 7&8)
And for every seasonal drink sold $1 will be donated to the Border Angels “Caravan of Love” Campaign 🤞

To get to University Avenue in San Diego, there are various modes of transportation available.
By Public Transport:
- Take the trolley (San Diego's light rail system) and get off at the station closest to University Avenue.
- From there, walk towards University Avenue until you reach your desired destination.
By Car:
- If coming from the north, take the I-5 South and exit onto CA-163 North towards Escondido.
- Turn right onto University Avenue and continue driving until you reach your destination.
- If coming from the south, take the I-5 North and exit onto CA- 94 East.
- Merge onto I-15 North and take exit 7 for El Cajon Boulevard toward San Diego State University.
- Turn right onto College Ave then right again onto Montezuma Rd which will lead you to University Ave.
Parking:
There are multiple parking options available near this area, including metered street parking, public parking garages, and private parking lots. Be sure to check for posted signage regarding time limits or restrictions before leaving your car unattended.
