We are thrilled to announce our next “On the Ladder” artist night coming March 14th!!!

From 6pm-9pm we will be listening to live tunes, offering select beverages (in between sets), and of course each other’s company!
*This time we will be asking a recommended donation of $10 to support in our mission to support our local community!

Updated 6oz packaging for this very special coffee from Thailand. It placed 8th in the Cup of excellence, experimental catagory! It tastes like plum, ripe pineapple, lemony, clean, tea finish. Mouth watering; I know!

This is my wife Katherine, affectionately she goes by Kat. Dubbed the shop mom, If you’ve ever had the chance to meet her you know she’s one of the warmest people you’ll ever meet!
As a commercial interior designer by trade She’s been helping me bring the vision of Genteel to life since 2018. Without her support this community would not be what it is today.
Thank you Kat, for being the best wife and mother to my son a guy could ask for. I’m so proud of the person you are. Tate and I are so lucky!

Happy 9 years to us and our community! We went from being a mobile coffee cart to a brick and mortar in North Park. Through all of the highs and lows of running a small business we couldn’t be more grateful for all the memories and friends we’ve made along the way.
We kicked it off yesterday with our very first latte art throw down and TODAY we have a fun after hours event from 6-9 featuring some house-made cocktails, a film screening, and some neighborhood camaraderie to kick off the weekend!
Let’s not forget to spotlight and be grateful for those behind the scenes of Genteel too! From our farmers to importers each person has a huge impact to the story and life of Genteel.
We want to invite you to our after hours event to celebrate our Anniversary while also acknowledging all those involved in the process!

☕️ The Villa Corzo & Colombia 🌿
One of our standout coffees is nearing the end of its season for us.
The Villa Corzo (Mexico) has been shining on Pour Over, Cold Brew, and Espresso—bright, smooth, and incredibly flavorful. We like to use the flavor description of Umami. Especially refreshing on Cold Brew lately.
Colombia has brought depth and balance to our Drip offering, with a comforting profile that’s been a quiet favorite.
The Villa Corzo is exiting our rotation as we sell out—come by and give it one last try anytime from 7am-4pm 🦊☕️

To get to University Avenue in San Diego, there are various modes of transportation available.
By Public Transport:
- Take the trolley (San Diego's light rail system) and get off at the station closest to University Avenue.
- From there, walk towards University Avenue until you reach your desired destination.
By Car:
- If coming from the north, take the I-5 South and exit onto CA-163 North towards Escondido.
- Turn right onto University Avenue and continue driving until you reach your destination.
- If coming from the south, take the I-5 North and exit onto CA- 94 East.
- Merge onto I-15 North and take exit 7 for El Cajon Boulevard toward San Diego State University.
- Turn right onto College Ave then right again onto Montezuma Rd which will lead you to University Ave.
Parking:
There are multiple parking options available near this area, including metered street parking, public parking garages, and private parking lots. Be sure to check for posted signage regarding time limits or restrictions before leaving your car unattended.
