To our community: Cocina del Charro (San Marcos location) management has been alerted that an individual with close contact to the restaurant has tested positive for Covid-19 and out of respect for the health and safety of the community at large we have chosen to self-disclose this information publicly in addition to reporting it to County Health authorities. Management does not believe this transmission occurred at our location; evidence suggests it was transmitted via a household family member who has also tested positive. The last presence at our San Marcos restaurant was on Sunday July 12th from 2 PM to 4PM. Although it has already been 5 days since this contact was in our restaurant, out of an abundance of caution Cocina del Charro San Marcos is closing this evening and will remain closed through the weekend. Further, Cocina del Charro has contracted a third-party sanitation company to completely disinfect the restaurant, on top of its already strict sanitation procedures. Cocina del Charro maintains strict health and safety protocol, including: requiring all employees to take logged temperature checks upon arriving to work, requiring employees exhibiting symptoms such as cough or fatigue to stay home, requiring hand washing and mandating masks for all employees. We will reopen on Monday for takeout and outdoor dining only, and, as always, we require masks for all guests anytime you are not seated at your table.

2. From the transit center, walk south on South Santa Fe Avenue for about 0.3 miles.
3. Turn left onto West Mission Road and continue walking for another 0.5 miles.
4. Look for the restaurant on your right.
Option 2: Driving/Parking
1. If coming from the north, take Interstate 15 South and exit at CA-78 East toward Escondido.
If coming from the south, take Interstate 15 North and exit at CA-78 East toward Escondido.
2. Continue on CA-78 East for about 6 miles.
3. Take the exit toward Twin Oaks Valley Road/San Marcos Boulevard.
4. Merge onto West San Marcos Boulevard and continue for approximately 1 mile.
5. Look for parking options near the restaurant, which will be on your right.
