Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Battle of Puebla. Mexican Independence Day marks the beginning of Mexico’s fight for independence from Spain.

On September 16, 1810, Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla issued the famous Grito de Dolores, calling people to rise up against Spanish rule. That moment helped launch a struggle for independence that lasted more than a decade.

So today we celebrate Mexican history, culture, and independence.

If driving, from downtown San Diego, head north on I-15 and take Exit 27 for West Bernardo Drive/ Rancho Bernardo Road. Turn right onto West Bernardo Drive and then left onto Dove Canyon Road. The restaurant is located on the left.
