A perfect World Cup–season throwback: Two Mexican football legends — Hugo Sánchez and Javier “El Vasco” Aguirre — once dined with us at The Brasserie, and with all the 2026 FIFA World Cup excitement, we’re celebrating their legacy on the world stage.

Hugo Sánchez, widely regarded as the greatest Mexican footballer of all time, was a prolific forward known for his acrobatic goals and five Pichichi trophies during his iconic years at Real Madrid.

Javier “El Vasco” Aguirre, now leading Mexico once again at the 2026 World Cup, built his reputation as a resilient midfielder before becoming one of Mexico’s most respected managers, guiding the national team across multiple World Cup cycles.

As the world watches new heroes rise on the pitch, we’re honored to have hosted two of the legends who helped shape Mexico’s football story.
