Pazzo’s Pizza Flips the Script: Now Serving as Sozzap Pizza!
Scripps Ranch, CA (April 1, 2026) – After more than three decades of delighting locals with fresh pizzas, Pazzo’s Pizza is officially flipping the name — and the perspective — to Sozzap Pizza.
Don’t worry: the beloved recipes remain exactly the same. The dough is still hand-tossed the old-fashioned way, the sauce is still simmered with the same secret blend of herbs, and the toppings are as fresh and generous as ever. The same passionate team that has been serving Scripps Ranch since 1993 is still hard at work in the kitchen — they’re just doing everything in reverse!
From the moment you walk in, you’ll notice the new sign glowing brightly above the door, but inside it’s business as usual… or should we say, “usual as business”?
“We’ve always been a little pazzo around here,” said the owners with a grin. “Now we’re proudly Sozzap. Same heart, same flavor, just spelled backwards for a fresh new chapter.”
Come celebrate the name change with us! Stop by Sozzap Pizza at the same Scripps Ranch location for your favorite pies, pastas, and that unbeatable neighborhood atmosphere. Because whether you call it Pazzo’s or Sozzap, one thing hasn’t changed: we’re still flipping pizzas — and now the name too.

Thank you to the entire community who supported our Toys for Tots campaign this year! We collected over 100 toys and stuffed animals and nearly filled three whole donation boxes, our most we’ve ever collected!

Our dear friend and bar manager, Liz Main, is facing an unimaginable challenge. Her teenage daughter, Abigail, has been diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma and will soon begin aggressive treatment.
Liz has always been there for us, giving so much to our Pazzo’s family, and now she needs our support. As a full-time teacher, Liz will soon run out of sick days and may have to take unpaid leave to care for Abigail. We are raising funds to help cover meals, essential expenses, and costs not covered by insurance during this difficult time.
Every little bit helps, and your generosity can make a real difference. Please like, comment, and share this post to help us reach more people who can support Liz and her family. Thank you for standing with us in this time of need.

There is still plenty of room for toys to be donated and remember, if you donate when you pickup your order, you can save $2!
We will collect toys through December 7th, and will be delivering the toys to on Dec. 8th!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
We will be closed today so we can celebrate Thanksgiving with our families. We have a lot to be thankful for this year, including our customers - new and returning - who continue to support us daily, as we make our way into our 33rd year open here in Scripps Ranch.

We are honored to display the Ron McElliot trophy!
ABOUT THE TROPHY:
Since 1978, Scripps Ranch has enjoyed the annual 4th of July 10K Race. In 1982, the assumed responsibility for the event, which has now grown to include not only the 10K Race but also a 2 Mile Fun Run as well as 12, 28 and 50 Mile Bike Rides. The Old Pros also initiated the perpetual Mayor’s Cup Trophy.
Since then the fastest male and female finishers have been awarded individual trophies and their names have been engraved on the Mayor’s Cup Trophy.
On July 4, 2000 the Old Pros rededicated and renamed the trophy to be the Ron McElliott Trophy. The Old Pros have honored Ron’s memory because he was our mentor and friend. He was one of the early Presidents of the Scripps Ranch Old Pros. He was the first Old Pros chairman of the 4 of July 10K.
Thousands of people join us each summer to be a part of this annual event. Ron was the visionary behind the Marina, a jewel of San Diego’s South Bay.
Ron founded the Arturo Barrios 10K, and on October 17th 1999 he was participating in its 10 year anniversary, when just as he crossed the finish line, his heart went into cardiac arrest and he died.
While Ron accomplished a great deal professionally, he never lost sight of the true values in life: his family and his friends. Always a kind word, always encouraging, Ron was the big brother many of us never had. And we miss him.

GREAT NEWS! Just less than three weeks after we were burglarized, the great officers and detectives of the San Diego Police Department made arrests in the case!
