We a fine selection of fresh fruits and veggies on the truck this week, plus a full week of markets. As we near the end of the school year, just a reminder that this week and next week will be our last Morse HS farmers markets until school is back in session in the fall. Also, we want to express our gratitude to all the SDSU interns who have been volunteering at the Peopleās Produce MFM throughout the year, and congratulate all the 2026 grads!
Also, reminder - we have a special work day happening this Saturday, May 23 at our Uvas Wellness Garden. Weāre looking for a small group of community members ages 14-24 for a special garden revitalization project at this new growing space. Check out our weekly produce selection on the Peopleās Produce Mobile Farmers Market truck. We want to give a shoutout to the culinary and agricultural science students at Morse HS who participated in the Garden 2 Goods program, they absolutely CRUSHED IT with their fruit leather & dehydrated fruit added-value products that were sold on the truck last week! The products sold out in no time, and were a huge hit with everyone that tried them⦠well done!

We have a new growing space at 4835 Market St weāre officially naming āChollas View Rainwater Gardenā. Come check it out at our new monthly Community Work Day this Saturday, 4/25, from 9-11am (and every 4th Saturday of the month). We had a beautiful work day on Saturday, and our Growers Collective gave away tons of great food plants and seeds to the community. Great turnout, thanks to all who showed up!
And if you missed it, donāt worry- we have a new Community Work Day happening this Saturday, 4/25 from 9-11am at our new growing space - Uvas Rain Water Garden @ 4835 Market St (located just east of the Mt Hope Community Garden on Market). If you havenāt seen the new space, you should definitely join us - things are starting to grow, and Ian and Christopher have been putting in a lot of work getting everything ready for food production. A few months ago, the PNV team had an opportunity to visit and take a tour through Living For Today Ranch in Bonita. It was a wonderful experience, and the work that Luis De La Rosa and Monica McDade are doing out there is amazing!
Weāre so happy to now be able to share the experience with our community members- please join us on Saturday, April 25th for our monthly Wellness Journey taking place at Living For Today Ranch. This free community event will feature a guided farm tour, salad harvesting, coconut husk planting, and a fresh community meal with farm salad and beet burgers ā all rooted in connection, sustainability, and nourishment.

Back to a full schedule this week, with a special Saturday market happening at Dennis Allen Park for an Earth Day Fair. Speaking of Earth Day, Mt. Hope Community Garden will be hosting the annual Earth Day Celebration community work day on April 18th, featuring gardening activities, arts & crafts, snacks and refreshments, music, and the Neighborhood Growers Collective will be giving away loads of plants to community members! Be sure to join us at the garden in celebrating Mother Earth and our food justice community!

New monthly Community Work Day happening this Saturday, 3/28 from 9am to 11am at the Uvas Rain Water Garden - 4835 Market St, 92102. Join us for creating planting areas, moving mulch, and pulling up weeds. Great way to get some exercise in the fresh air and connect with neighbors.
The monthly work day at Uvas will happen every 4th Saturday, and weāll also have weekly volunteer hours every Thursday from 10am to 12pm. Join us in growing food and building equity in our communities!
