The Uvas Wellness Garden space is really starting to come along, thanks to the hard work put in by Ian and Christopher. If you want to join us in making this relatively new garden space special, join us tomorrow for a community work day from 9-11am. The garden has some rough terrain and no bathroom facility, but it’s definitely a diamond in the rough that continues to transform into a useful food growing bounty for the community. If you’re good with these conditions and want to put in the work to get this garden to its fullest potential, please join us tomorrow! No equipment or experience needed, just positive vibes and a desire to help improve our neighborhoods!

We have a hyperlocal-harvested bounty of goodness on the People’s Produce MFM truck this week! Highlights include Heirloom Tomatoes and Anaheim Peppers from Walker and Lucia, Green Beans from our own Mt. Hope Community Garden (under care and guidance from our newest PNV team member Mr. Roan Wadsworth), plus additional greens coming from Solwazi’s Farmacy and Nyenyekevu’s Nursery.
And speaking of Roan Wadsworth and the Mt. Hope Community Garden, not only is he a skilled farmer but he’s also a talented drummer - his band, Christopher Millan, will be playing at the garden on Tues. 6/23 for our Summer Solstice Social community fundraiser. This $20 event supports our food justice work and the garden, and will feature live music, delicious tacos (chicken and vegan), specialty cocktails and drinks, and local artwork showcased throughout the garden. This will be a special night supporting a great cause, and we hope you can join us!
