Italian Stromboli
Ingredients:
- 1 tube Pillsbury pizza crust
- 8 slices deli ham
- 10 slices Genoa salami
- 12 slices sandwich pepperoni
- 8 slices provolone cheese or mozzarella (or shredded cheese)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons chopped parsley
- 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
- Preheat your oven to the temperature indicated on the pizza crust tube. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in the microwave and mix in minced garlic, chopped parsley, and Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
2. Assembly:
- Stretch out the pizza crust on the parchment paper-lined baking sheet to nearly the size of the sheet.
- Layer the deli meats: start with ham, then salami, followed by pepperoni.
- Layer the cheese slices (or shredded cheese) on top of the meats.
3. Rolling and Baking:
- Roll the Stromboli tightly lengthwise and seal the seam well. Also, seal the ends by pinching and molding the excess dough underneath.
- Score the top of the Stromboli a few times with a serrated knife to allow steam to escape during baking.
- Brush the garlic butter mixture over the top of the Stromboli.
4. Baking:
- Bake the Stromboli according to the instructions on the pizza crust tube, without par-baking it beforehand. This typically involves baking at a specified temperature for a certain amount of time until the crust is golden brown.
5. Serving:
- Serve the Stromboli warm. You can optionally serve with red sauce on the side for dipping.
Enjoy your delicious Italian Stromboli!
