Memorial Day is right around the corner- don’t miss out on these special treats, just in time for the holiday weekend!
Our infamous (at least to me 😭 to y’all they’re probably just normal-famous) iced sugar cookies, iced gingerbread, and red-white-and-brownies are already flying off the counter before I can properly pack them. You people need help almost as much as I do!!
We’ve also restocked our full sized apple, mixed berry, and key lime pies, so be sure to grab one for your picnic while you’re here getting burger buns for the bbq! We’ve got you covered!!

Happy almost Mother’s Day!
We are busy bees here at GFBCo. getting ready to celebrate mothers, mother figures, and motherly love this weekend.
Treat yourself, your mama, your nana, your sister, your teacher, another-mother-figure, etc etc with:

Stephanie, the Big Chicken, and Wilmer, Chicken No. 2, featured here moments before bringing gluten free chaos to the unsuspecting crowd at GRAZE in The Flower Fields.
(Not pictured: me, the little chicken, and our ever-elusive, multi-talented cookie and cupcake decorator Mac.)
I wanted to take a moment to share this with you all. Steph (my actual mom) and Wilmer (long acknowledged as her actual firstborn) are the ones who brought Gluten Freedom up and made it happen. Through COVID, crisis, and every challenge in between, GFBCo exists and continues to thrive thanks to their dedication and passion (and, it goes without saying- unimaginably hard work).
Thanks to them, we now have The Coop, a growing presence in local grocery aisles and restaurants, and we get to enjoy participating in events like this to support and celebrate California’s best.
More importantly, as you all have supported and encouraged us over the years, we hope to continue doing our part to support the tremendous need for safe, satisfying, allergen-friendly (and celiac safe!) food not just here in San Diego but in time, for folks and families in every neighborhood :)

We’re all twitterpated these days (IYK,YK 🦌🦉🦨🌸) and the shop is stuffed to the brim with sugar cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and more. Take a trip with the whole family. Buy 12 at once (this is not even close to a joke… though I wish it was 🥲 save some for the rest of us, you animals!!!)
I wanted to make a joke about “no need to rush; the sugar will take care of that for you” but, as implied above, we tend to sell out of these things uncomfortably quickly. So, maybe you should actually consider rushing over here. Unless… “other people removing temptation from your path before you get here” is your diet strategy.
Do what you want? Do your best? May the odds be ever in your favor? And may you still get a shot at the flavor you crave here.

Hello, neighbors!
Are you retired or semi-retired? Or, are you perhaps new or a recently transplanted to the SD North County Coastal area? Are you none of the above, but enjoy meeting new people? Are you not quite sure about that last one either, but you don’t have anything planned Thursday morning?
For your consideration, we are pleased to introduce: the Spring Chicken Social Club.
Every Thursday from 9-11am. Stop in for the Social Hour special (coffee and a muffin!), read the paper, meet someone new, enjoy the scenery, eat a snack, comment on the weather, people watch, or anything else you can think of to your heart’s content.
Solana Beach is a really special place, and to us, there is nothing more special than getting to hold space for the community we serve and love. For now, you can just think of this as an intergenerational rest stop.
But who knows? This time next year, we might be getting jackets made 😉 see you Thursday!

It’s pantry restock time!!!
ALL pot pies, including limited release Beef Pot Roast. Cinnamon roll bread, Rosemary sourdough, hamburger buns and more. Take-and-bake scones, all cookie doughs (including sugar cookie cutouts!) and both 6” and 10” pie shells.
You guys have been taking home a lot of 10” pies lately? So we restocked all 5 varieties of those as well (for the uninitiated- key lime, mixed berry, apple crumble, maple pecan, and even pumpkin spice).
Look. The world is a lot rn. You deserve something tasty. Maybe a cinnamon roll, or cheesecake bar. My current guilty pleasure is some chili with a big ol grilled cheese (secret menu item- yes, we have one of those.) Anyway. You are the treat. This is just a lil glaze on top of your existing glory. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

As Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, we thought it would be fun to host a sugar cookie decorating event at The Coop to celebrate!

The theme is “conversation hearts”- fun for all ages and accompaniments! You’ll get 6 assorted sugar cookies to decorate and take home, we’ll do a little side-by-side demonstration in case you feel stumped, and there will also be a little fun-for-prizes along the way 😉

Hey, San Diego! Wanna hang out?
Picture this: it’s a Saturday morning. 75°; sunny as always. You head to the coast- surfing, hiking, generally getting a tan. What’s next? Refuel and relax, of course.
We gotcha covered for both! Killer sandwiches, sweets, and soundtrack. Plenty to choose from. But the icing on the GF cake? We’ve been stockpiling a whole bunch of weird games and other unnecessary white elephant gifts through the holidays for just this occasion!
Starting 1/24, we’ll be hosting a “game and gather” event at the Coop every 3rd Saturday. 1-3pm. Try your luck with our weird games or bring your own. A selection of items will be on sale during these hours too- a little gamble to treat our gamers!
