Hi Family,
We have made the decision to close our shop space at 1835 Imperial Avenue, stopping walk-in coffee operations by March 31, 2025.
This means we will no longer be operating as a coffee shop as we have over the past seven years ❤️
Many of you saw us on the verge of expansion, with a five-year contract for a second location, and we celebrated together. After careful consideration, we have chosen to leave both spaces to continue nurturing other areas of our personal lives.
Everything happens in accordance with a divine plan.
We formally established in 2018, but this idea called Cafe X: By Any Beans Necessary has been in contemplation since 2015 with the drive to ignite SELF-determination and a supportive community to help drive this change. It was an inside job just as much (maybe more) than it was an outside job. We consistently asked what kind of people we need to be to develop a vision much bigger than ourselves. And we were granted the materials in awards, magazines, interviews, special partnership collabs, high profile visits, and recognitions to make it grow. Most importantly, we were granted the tools to spiritually develop ourselves as the anchors for this work; it was about family TO community. In particular, the bond between mother and daughter was refined through the effort to build this space for you all. Through it, we're realizing something much, much deeper - that which is timeless.
Through the pandemic and other trials and triumphs, it is our values that have kept us:

And it is these values that let us know when it it is time to go. When you have completed your mission, you know it is so.
This decision was not made lightly or quickly, as it was the culmination of several conversations, meditations, and loving thought forms. Though we are closing this door, we feel even more passionate about the cooperative business ecosystem we have nurtured during seven + years in operation. We are simply deciding there may be other adventures or mediums for this expression.
We look forward to contributing our voices and insights to a movement whose time has come.
Our last message is one of gratitude. Gratitude for all those who stood by us when we were in our most nascent and vulnerable stages; gratitude to those who handled us with care and love while we learned and grew; and for those who intentionally showed up as Love and only Love - in the spirit of cooperation. You are special people, and you know who you are. We recognize you, and we never forget. We carry you with us in all we do.
Walk-in weekend hours are still active Friday - Sunday from 7 AM - 3PM until March 31. We will take reservations all week up to March 31, but not beyond it.
Now! It's time to CELEBRATE.
