What people say
Studio Diner, located on Ruffin Road in San Diego, has been receiving mixed reviews from critics and customers alike. The following are excerpts from recent newspaper reviews and customer comments found online.
A review from the San Diego Union-Tribune in April 2021 praises Studio Diner for its "large selection of classic diner food" such as the "hearty meatloaf" and the "perfectly cooked omelets". However, they did mention that some dishes were "a bit heavy on the seasoning".
In contrast to this positive review, a review from the San Diego Reader in May 2021 was critical of Studio Diner's menu, stating that it was "overpriced", and their version of corned beef hash was "greasy". However customers' views were different. According to one Yelp review published in June 2021: “I come here about once a week for breakfast. They have great coffee and everything is always delicious”. Similarly another customer mentioned on Google Reviews in July 2021: “My husband and I both ordered burgers & fries; cooked perfectly! Juicy burgers with plenty of flavor - always delicious”.
Despite some negative reviews, many customers seem to enjoy going to Studio Diner for breakfast or brunch. A review from Eater San Diego in March 2021 also mentions their breakfast menu, featuring a "variety of Benedicts" which are “their specialties”. Thus if one is looking for a place to eat breakfast or brunch over the weekend then Studio Diner could be an option.
