❤️ EL VEGANITO UPDATE ❤️

First and foremost, THANK YOU. The amount of love and support you guys have shown us these past few weeks has been incredible. Every comment, message, share, visit, and lead you’ve sent our way means so much to us.

Saturday, August 22nd will be our last day of service at Grossmont Center.

We’ve been working hard to find our next location, but with such a short amount of time, it’s been difficult to find the right place. For now, we’ll be putting everything into storage while we figure out what the next move for El Veganito will be.
We also won’t be staying in the La Mesa/East San Diego area. We’re heading back home to Oceanside, where we live, and we’re excited to explore opportunities in North County, farmers markets, breweries, popups, or wherever El Veganito might fit next. If you know of a place or opportunity, please let us know in the comments! ❤️
Thank you also for your patience when dining with us lately. You guys have kept us BUSY, so service has sometimes been a little slower than usual. We truly appreciate your understanding and support.

Some of you have been with us long enough to remember that El Veganito started at markets. When COVID shut everything down, we took preorders, loaded up our van, and drove all over San Diego County delivering El Veganito directly to you. 🚐🌮

We’ve had to adapt before, and we’ll adapt again. We’re not afraid to work, and we’ll keep moving forward.

From the markets, to those crazy COVID delivery routes, to almost six years at Grossmont Center… thank you for being part of this journey. ❤️🌱

💚 We have some difficult news to share.

After almost 6 years at Grossmont Center, El Veganito has been asked to leave our location by August 26.

This was unexpected, and honestly, we don’t know yet what comes next. El Veganito has become so much more than a business to us—it has supported our family and connected us with an amazing community for almost 6 years. 🌱

Until then, we’re going to keep going. 💚 We’ll be OPENING MONDAYS and would love to see you and feel your support during these last weeks at Grossmont.

We’re also searching for a new home. If you know of a small space, kitchen, food counter, or opportunity that might be right for El Veganito, please DM us.

And please share. Our next home might be one connection away. 💚🌱

WHO WE ARE
El Veganito is a 100% vegan restaurant that specializes in traditional Mexican Cuisine. We are small staff that has found it’s home in Grossmont Center’s Food court. Currently we are open Wednesdays-Saturdays 12p-6:30p.

JOB SUMMARY
The Line Cook/ Prep Cook’s responsibilities are to assist in all general kitchen tasks as needed. The tasks included but are not limited to:
* Chopping vegetables
* Organizing foods/supplies
* Prepping our “meats”
* Grill Work
* Blending sauces
* Maintaining a clean space

REQUIREMENTS
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and self starter mentality are all a must. There is always something to do in the kitchen and the ideal candidate is able to find things to do before they are asked to do them.

* Previous Kitchen Experience is a plus

Chilaquiles verdes: Freshly made corn chips tossed in a tomatillo- cilantro- jalapeño salsa (med spice) topped with onion, house sour cream, mozzarella cheese, avocado and cilantro. A delicious treat only this Friday 1/15 and Saturday 1/16! As with any item you can add tofu revuelto or any of our “meats”. Adding beans is recommended as well! See you soon!

Driving/Parking:
Travel on I-8 E and take exit 20 for Grossmont Center Drive. Turn right onto Grossmont Center Dr, and continue straight until you reach the center. Parking is available in its lot.

For the Mexican restaurant:

Public Transport:
Take bus #854 towards La Mesa Blvd & University Ave, and get off at La Mesa Blvd & Baltimore Dr. Walk towards Grossmont Center Dr.

Driving/Parking:
From I-8 E, take exit 20 for Grossmont Center Drive. Turn left onto La Mesa Blvd and then left again onto Murray Dr, finally turning left at Grossmont Center Dr. Parking is available in its lot.
