Find the Room That Fits You
Not every stay in San Diego looks the same – and neither do the accommodations at The Sofia Hotel. Within our historic 1926 building, accommodations range from more compact European-style guest rooms to spacious Studio Suites, with layouts designed for different styles of downtown travel. Room sizes range from approximately 183 to 521 square feet depending on accommodation type.
Options include King and Queen accommodations, Two Double Bed guest rooms for additional flexibility, and ADA rooms with roll-in showers. Guests may also choose between our Classic accommodations, which reflect the character of the hotel’s historic roots, or refreshed Premier accommodations with a more contemporary feel.
Like many historic hotels in major city centers, room sizes and layouts vary throughout the building — allowing guests to select the stay experience that best fits their visit to downtown San Diego.

Summer in San Diego has its traditions — and Big Bay Boom remains one of the city’s most iconic.
Returning Saturday, July 4, 2026, the waterfront celebration will once again light up San Diego Bay with one of the West Coast’s largest fireworks displays. This year’s event will also commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary, with synchronized fireworks launched from four barges across the bay.
From the Embarcadero and Harbor Island to Shelter Island and the Coronado Ferry Landing, the evening brings together people from across the region for a classic Fourth of July experience along the waterfront. Fireworks begin around 9:00pm

NASCAR Comes to San Diego
