If you're looking to get to Mata Way in San Marcos, there are a few different ways to do so depending on whether you plan to drive or take public transportation.
If driving:
- From the north, take the exit for La Costa Avenue off of I-5 South. Turn left onto La Costa Avenue and continue for about 2 miles until you reach Rancho Santa Fe Road. Turn right onto Rancho Santa Fe Road and continue for about 1 mile until you reach Mata Way. Turn left onto Mata Way.
- From the south, take the exit for Palomar Airport Road off of I-5 North. Turn right onto Palomar Airport Road and continue for about 2 miles until you reach El Camino Real. Turn left onto El Camino Real and continue for about 1 mile until you reach Rancho Santa Fe Road. Turn right onto Rancho Santa Fe Road and continue for about a half-mile until you reach Mata Way. Turn right onto Mata Way.
If taking public transportation:
- Take the North County Transit District's COASTER train to the Encinitas Station. From there, transfer to the Route 304 bus heading towards Escondido Transit Center. Get off at the stop near the intersection of Rancheros Drive and West San Marcos Boulevard, then walk southeast on Rancheros Drive until you reach Mata Way.
- Alternatively, take the same COASTER train to Carlsbad Village Station instead and transfer to the Route 325 bus heading towards Escondido Transit Center. Get off at Rancho Santa Fe Rd & Descanso Ave. Walk south on Descanso Ave then turn left on Poinsettia Ave till Mata way junction which is your destination.
Parking options will vary depending on where exactly on Mata Way you are going, but there should be plenty of street parking available in most areas.
