The Dojo Cafe

The Dojo Cafe The Dojo Cafe is a community-based coffee shop that aims to serve the underserved communities by offering ethnically diverse food and drink. The cafe provides a safe and productive space for Millennials and Minorities (M&M) to network, grow, develop social capital within the community, and showcase their talents through events such as poetry nights, rap battles, dance-a-thons, and art shows. With a commitment to community, diversity, integrity, genuine dialogue, and personal growth at its core values, The Dojo Cafe offers local student internship opportunities and hires M&M's and residents to run the cafe events.

What people say

The Dojo Cafe has received mixed reviews from critics and customers alike. A recent review in the San Diego Union-Tribune praised the cafe's ambiance and noted that their pour-over coffee was excellent. However, a review on Eater San Diego criticized the cafe's lack of vegan options and suggested that their drinks were overpriced.

A Yelp reviewer left a positive review, stating that The Dojo Cafe had a great selection of teas and coffees. Another customer complained about slow service and said they were disappointed with the quality of their latte.

On Tripadvisor, recent reviews mentioned that while the cafe's atmosphere was trendy and comfortable, the food was average. One reviewer said their iced coffee was "...really smooth and tasty!" Another reviewer mentioned "I really enjoyed my time there."

Overall, it seems that The Dojo Cafe has some strong points but also has room for improvement in terms of menu options, pricing, and service.
