Mexican Independence Day is TODAY — September 16. 🇲🇽

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Battle of Puebla. Mexican Independence Day marks the beginning of Mexico’s fight for independence from Spain.

On September 16, 1810, Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla issued the famous Grito de Dolores, calling people to rise up against Spanish rule. That moment helped launch a struggle for independence that lasted more than a decade.

So today we celebrate Mexican history, culture, and independence.

2. Merge onto CA-163 North and continue for about 4 miles.
