Henri Lurton, owner of the Grand Cru Classé, Château Brane-Cantenac in Margaux, is convinced of Baja's winemaking potential and has brought back home to Ensenada Lourdes Martinez Ojeda after she worked for almost 10 years with him in Bordeaux. While priced just out of range of most people's daily drinker budget, this wine nevertheless provides outstanding value. Full bodied and balanced by pleasant oak and fresh acidity, I know many a Cabernet drinker that would be easily converted with this one, and at $22, I've yet to see a Cabernet that can touch it!
