When we took on this project, we knew we were taking on a piece of history.

To secure the lease, we had to take the building exactly as it was. We knew a restaurant with this much history would come with some challenges, but once we got inside and started the work, we realized just how much this location needed.

Sewer lines. Plumbing. Permits. Fire suppression. Flooring. Drywall. Electrical. The list kept growing.

What started as a renovation quickly became a complete rebuild from the ground up.

But we never gave up.

So far, we’ve invested more than $80,000 of our own money into bringing this restaurant back to life, all while paying rent since last year. We’ve come way too far to stop now, and we can finally see the finish line.

Now, we’re asking our supporters and friends to help us get across it. ❤️

We’ve started a GoFundMe (https://gofund.me/91b6cc25f) to help raise the remaining funds needed to complete construction, pass our final inspections, and finally open our doors. Our goal is to have Mom’s Chicken & Waffles open before the end of the year.

San Diego, we need your help getting across the finish line. ❤️🙏🏾

We’ve invested over $80,000 into bringing Mom’s Chicken & Waffles to our new home in North Park. What we didn’t expect was just how much work this old, historic building would need once we opened everything up and started the renovation.

We’ve kept pushing. We’ve kept investing. And we’ve gotten SO far. 💪🏾

Now we’re about $60,000 away from being able to finish the job and OPEN THESE DOORS. 🐔🧇🔥

We don’t like asking for help, but Mom’s has always been bigger than just us. San Diego has supported us from the food truck days, to our first restaurant, to Netflix, and now to this next chapter.

So we’re asking our community to help us with this final push.

We have a lot of work to complete in a short amount of time, so Mom’s Chicken & Waffles will be temporarily closed while we finish construction on our new location.

Thank you all for your continued love and support. We’re excited to announce that we’ll be reopening very soon!

Option 1 - Public Transport:

Take MTS Bus No. 7 or 923 to the nearest bus stop and walk for about 5 minutes to reach the restaurant.

Option 2 - Driving/Parking:

From downtown San Diego, take CA-94 E and exit onto Euclid Ave. Then turn left onto Market St and drive for about 3 miles. The restaurant is located on your right-hand side. There is limited street parking available.

For the chicken restaurant, take I-5 N towards San Diego and exit onto Sea World Drive. Then make a right turn onto Sunset Cliffs Blvd and drive for about 4 miles. The restaurant will be on your left-hand side. There is a small parking lot available.

For the fast food restaurant, take I-8 W towards Mission Valley and exit onto Hotel Circle S. Then make a left turn onto Fashion Valley Rd and drive for about half a mile. The restaurant will be on your right-hand side in the Westfield Mission Valley mall parking lot.
