Making big progress at our new roastery. Thanks to Lee and Alan for being heavy lifters. We have gotten heavy duty shelving we put together, a shopping station, cupping tables, lots of organizing and so much to go. We are staying super busy and grateful for the orders coming in!! Big roast day tomorrow and our first cupping in the new space with a potential client. Grateful for yall!!! Next thing is we need plants and color in here. A space doesn’t truly feel like ultreya with out plants and some color. 🌞🌞 prob need a mural soon 🫨

Some raw footage lol! We’re still getting our footing at our new roastery. We just officially got access last night and already roasting and packing this am. We will slowly build this out how we need everything set up, but for now the show must go on. The first purchase was obviously a ladder. We will share more out the new roastery as we go! Happy Birthday to Dee!!! Dee’s been with us for quite awhile now. 2 birthdays already. Dee holds it down St both locations, trains staff on drinks and naturally is hospitable. Amazing traits of a natural leader. Kind,

This is RAY, one of Ultreya’s first customers 8.5 years ago at college location, a friend, an Ultreya team member and the owner of Ray’s Hardwood. In his little free time he runs his woodworking company and we’ve had the honor of him over the years building shop tables and other items. This time we needed a custom moveable condiment station. He did not disappoint. We’re excited for this 3 in 1 storage, garbage and coffee station at our OB shop. Over the years I’ve gotten to see Ray perfect his craft and we’re grateful for this new piece. Slowly over time our time our OB location is getting a little rework as we’ve gotten busy we need to change things up for more space and Ray has us covered. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our Lee! Most of you have seen her way back at our College shop, and now at our OB shop and the newest addition to our roasting team. Lee does it all. She keeps us organized (better then ai could ever) , she’s genuinely one of the happiest people. She helps our whole business run smooth, and someone you can count on. We’re so grateful for you Lee! Thank you for everything you do at the shops and behind the scenes. ✨🌞 andddd if you don’t know she also owns Aromalee Shop making candles, incense and all thing essential oils. You can find her products at both of our locations and around San Diego.

But is it ceremonial? look we get it, it’s fun to customize your drinks. I’d say tho that we’re pretty professional at building drink profiles and giving suggestions. Sometimes the urge to build a drink happens. We’re here to try your creations. It was SWEET. It tasted like cookie dough matcha. Pretty wild. Want something similar and well balanced? We suggest our butterfly effect (matcha, day tripper powder, lavender, nutmeg) add cold foam for a special treat. 🌞 we thought we’d have a little fun as this was the wildest drink we’ve seen in awhile.

The Collegiate Collection is here!!

Friends 🌞 We wanted to bring a special fall merch drop. Fall has that feeling of togetherness. San Diego is a big college town and both of our shops are home to some fantastic ones right down the street. We thought, let's pay an ode to the college vibe. Remember in the 90s or (maybe not) When we repped our fav sports team and mascots on crewnecks and t-shirts? Well that's the vibe of our new merch. We wanted a classic College design. UCAT means Ultreya Coffee And Tea and a super cute Coffee Cup mascot holding a coffee cup-cheering for Ultreya. We are stoked on it. It's perfect for any game day, and sporting event or just a fun cozy fit. We have crew necks, boxy t shirts, and a classic t shirt. We hope you enjoy this very fun drop. Also just a reminder we work with Raul who is a college area neighbor and designer who designs all of our merch, and we work with high quality fabrics and lastly-everything is printed locally. No skimping on quality and care.

Finally got the OB crew together for a staff appreciation. We had a veryyyy busy summer. When we opened the OB store we were so excited to see who would help build this community. Couldn’t ask for a better OB crew. They work hard, it’s busy and they stay on point. Very proud of this team and amazed at the talent this crew posses on the clock and off. In spare time most of this crew has wood working business, photography, art, surfers and more. Wanted to give a big shout out to Raglan Public House for the best and service we could ask for. Shout out to Liv at raglan!! Slayed. And also An’s Gelato for the after dinner gelato. We had a 10/10 experience. If your ever mean to my OB crew watch out 👀 🤭😂💕

Our friends NO PRESSURE and FREQUENT COFFEE (the best decaf in SD) will be popping up at our sunset cliffs location to hand brew some amazing decafs, decaf fizzy drinks, and chat all things decaf. If you haven't tried some of Frequent coffees decaf-they are a must. Kurtis from NP is also an amazing barista and this is going to be a super rad fun event. We'd love for you to join us. GONE BANANAS?

OK, ok we gave into the banana trend. Customers and staff asked for it and who are we to say no? We made the Gone Bananas Latte or Matcha. We make this banana syrup in house-we soak bananas in brown sugar for 24! hours to macerate, and adding in a little Ultreya magic to make this delicious concoction. Choose espresso or matcha and your favorite milk and WAHLA (how do you spell whala-whalaa?) Anyways-if you like bananas give it a try. It's really nice and subtle-not too sweet and really fun. If you want to make it more fun our seasonal cold foam is: MAPLE SEA SALT. The cold foam is delicious on every drink to be honest. I love it on a cold brew-perfect balance. Gone bananas is here for a limited time. (We hear you screaming for fall drinks lol).

SEPTEMBER 5th 11-1pm only at our college location. We’re slowly rolling back into events at our college shop after a summer hiatus. First up we’re bringing back THE BOOK SWAP. Now we all love reading and we’re excited to swap books, but please do not bring your book case on a forklift and drop them off here. LIMIT to 4 books to donate to the swap and you can take as many books as you donated. Being 1? Take 1. If there’s a bunch left over at 1pm then take whatever. The rest of the books will go on our bookshelf and or we will donate them to somewhere in need. We will organize by genres. Come in a being your book to the designated genre of the book (like sci-fi -romance, s**t, fantasy, memoir, etc). We hope yall meet a new friend,
Get a book recommendation from someone and enjoy yourself. Everyone participating in the book swap will receive 15% off all food and drink items at the shop.

ON MONDAY ITS BANANA TIME-Ok we’ve GONE BANANAS (name of our new drink) to be honest-i really really love tapping into out of the box seasonal drinks instead of following trends because it feels more authentic to Ultreya. While-typically in coffee many shops are doing similar things because that’s just the way it is sometimes. No one can copy and paste what another shop does with a recipe tho. We’ve gotten so many requests for a banana latte, So we decided to throw our hats in the ring for a BANANA LATTE and follow the trend. Of course we’re making in house syrup. Macerated bananas with brown sugar and a few secret ingrediants. Giving some depth to the bananas and to match our espresso and matcha profile. And to top it off, if you want you can add some delicious maple sea salt cold foam to give you a real fall vibe. I want to give a massive shout out to our COLLEGE SHOP STAFF who took this on and came up with the recipe from top to bottom and made a delicious drink for you all!! It drops on MONDAY!!! at both shops!! We hope you enjoy it, we worked hard on dialing this in ✨🌞

Waking up and remembering you can go to your fav local coffeeshop and have a barista craft you an excellent coffee or matcha and you step out into the world ready to take on whatever the day brings. I thought it would be fun/funny to post PAST highlights of things that go bad when running a business. In early 2023 I was road tripping to Illinois and I was at a dead stop on I70 construction in Colorado when this text popped up from my sweet shift lead at the time. Sadly she walked in to the whole shop filled with warm water. The culprit? Staff accidentally left the back flush on our La Marzocco USA and it blew the hose off and for 16 hours water filled the shop ☠️. We have amazing customers who came to get coffee and saw the situation and hopped into action and brought squeegee and fans and helped clean up. Crazy things happen you’d never think happen and always happens if the owner is out of town 😂. Ive learned to prepare for anything. This one was wild tho. Also lucky Jake Columna came to our rescue and saved our lamarzocco from permanent damage. What’s the worst thing that’s happened at your job?

Every Monday morning I arrive to the college location about 5am ish to get ready for a big day of roasting. It’s just so nostalgic when I come here so early and it’s peaceful and the sun is rising behind the shop. The shop glows in a beautiful way. For so long this was a “hidden gem” I didn’t have a good sign. people didn’t know we were here. It was painful. I saw all of the potential and beauty on this block and corner. Now when I come back in midday -the people have found us. There’s usually a line and all the seats taken up these days. It feels amazing and overwhelming that people choose u to come to. Somedays I’m so overjoyed and grateful. It hits me that we did it. We made it. It’s special. It’s not so hidden. It’s for everyone. Thank you to those of you who enjoy our college shop. It’s our baby and our micro roastery and where we prep all of the syrups and cold brew. She’s truly a baddie.

ROCKET CANTARITO anyone?
Over at our OB shop we whipped up the perfect summer sipper. Rocket flower espresso (sparkling orange,
Lemongrass and lavender notes) and paired it with orange juice and sq**rt. The perfect semi sparkling juice with espresso for a pick me up that is thirst quenching and unforgettable.
