Max's Restaurant has a rich history that dates back to 1945 when it was founded by Maximo Gimenez, a Stanford-educated teacher who befriended American occupation troops stationed in Quezon City. The soldiers loved the food so much that they insisted on paying, prompting Maximo to open a cafe where they could enjoy delicious meals. Ruby, Maximo's niece who managed the kitchen, created a special recipe for chicken that became an instant favorite among the GIs - thus, Sarap-to-the-Bones® Fried Chicken was born.
Today, Max's Restaurant has expanded to nearly 200 stores across the Philippines and has opened locations in The United States, Canada, and The Middle East. Despite its growth and success, Max's Restaurant remains true to its roots as a proud Filipino tradition.
