Rice or Death, a beloved snack van and food truck in Chula Vista, CA, is gearing up to open their first brick-and-mortar restaurant in North Park, complete with a full bar. Though the food truck will no longer be hitting the streets on a regular basis, they will still make appearances at special events and pop-ups. Known for their delicious fried rice, Rice or Death has garnered a loyal following who are eagerly awaiting the opening of their new restaurant.

To get to the location of the snack van and food truck, you can take the San Diego Trolley and stop at the City College station. From there, walk towards 16th street and turn left. Go straight until you reach F street and turn right. The snack van and food truck will be parked somewhere along F street.
If you are driving, head towards downtown San Diego and take exit 16B for B Street. Turn left onto 16th Street, then right onto F street. Look for available parking spots along F street or nearby streets.
Keep in mind that parking in downtown San Diego can be difficult, so it's recommended to take public transport if possible.

While this means the end of their food truck operations, they will still do pop-ups for special events from time to time. If you haven't had the chance to try their delicious fried rice yet, don't worry! Rice or Death will be making one last appearance at Thr3e Punk Ales on Sunday, November 6th from 3-9pm. This is your chance to enjoy their Big Yellow Fried Rice Dispensary before they shift gears and focus on their new restaurant.
Rice or Death's fried rice is the perfect complement to any craft beer, as they proved at the SD Beer Guild Fest that kicked off SD Beer Week on Saturday, November 5th. Their loyal fans know that "rice is life," and we can't wait to see what they have in store for us at their upcoming brick-and-mortar location.
