I wanted to thank everyone for the support I’ve received during such a wild time in my life!
The friends I’ve gained from here have led me to do great things with Rollin Roots! The community came through to support me when I needed to take a break from supporting them. I want to thanks those that have held space for me and kept the lights on for me during this time, not sure how resilient I could have been without that support coming from you guys.
Most of the content I will be posting is going to move to tiktok and my personal Instagram
Most of the nonprofit work we have been doing involves dealing directly with the unhoused community, and I have tried to build an ethical strategy surrounding filming and showcasing it in a responsible light, and i have not been able to come up with a solution that works for me.
Although the work is continuing, those that want to be involved please reach out directly, as many of you have already done.

The media has suddenly started coming to my court dates again so I am sure there will be enough updates there for the Karen’s and Kareno’s. Since I’m pro per now I am unable to speak about it so there won’t be any updates coming from my end.
In spite of the situation I was still able to find light and I really want to reiterate my thanks to those that have been along this journey with me, y’all are definitely invited to the cookout

Food donation this coming Monday 7-31-23!!! Service from approx 5-730 or until food runs out
I was fortunate enough to receive a huge food donation to prepare for those in need. I will be setting up in downtown SD to be as close to our concentrated unhoused community as possible, but all are welcome!
As I move forward with turning Rollin Roots into a non profit instead of a business operation, we will be working in partnership with local food banks to turn their donations into plant based magic! Our first mission is to feed those in need with food that would otherwise go to waste, and we do advocate for priority on vegan options!
I received tons of plant based ground that i want to turn into hearty meals for the community, and I’m thinking a nice loco moco will be amazing for Monday.

Did you know that trees (and rose bushes) grow in two directions?
You always see the canopy of leaves and flowers, but you don’t see the roots.
The tree cannot grow one way without growing in the other.
The roots must spread out just as wide as the top.
I am heading out of town and placing more focus into my new ventures and learning to be a lawyer while I don’t have access to the brand I built here.
In light of that i will be doing a pop Sunday night in San Diego for pickup only!

As an FYI
I’ve spent the last couple of years in living hell. I will not be silent and allow the injustices I have suffered through to go on unchecked.
Rollin Roots, a business I built from the ground up by myself has been closed and every effort I have made to get things going again in order to provide for myself, have been met with racist opposition on behalf of the SD District Attorneys office.
My clients and contracts have all been called to persuade them to drop me, donors have been called to reclaim their donations, I’ve had to fight evictions to stay housed. The DA has taken special care to disrupt my life as much as possible, to deprive me of the ability to live with any semblance of normalcy.
I am sure many of you cannot even fathom the things I have been forced to endure all BEFORE I have had a single day of trial.
This situation would be much different if I were not a minority, but because of the color of my skin and my sexual orientation, I am subject to malicious actions and quite frankly abuse of our criminal process.
The criminal justice system does not apply to minorities.
The things I have been subject to I have had to deal with on my own, until the time comes for a fair and proper trial. If I cried about every single thing they have put me through I wouldn’t have the energy to get out of bed ever again. I must shoulder each action for the time being and somehow navigate this completely new territory of my life. Rest assured though, they are doing everything in their power to deny me of these rights. I wonder how much money and time they have spent on this, because it is a matter of money, the life they have put so much effort into ruining does not matter to them.
Recipe for pasta:
1 cup organic marinara
6 tablespoons cashew cream
1/4 cup red onions
1/4 cup squash
3 cups of f**k the police
2 oz of justice reform
A pinch of “the system works as intended and the intention is slavery and control over black bodies not justice because this damn sure isn’t justice”

You not just about to contribute to attempting to ruin my life and say opposie daisy we didn’t mean to insight white outrage fear anger and potential violence amongst our base towards you without any facts whatsoever, let’s just pretend we didn’t do that. Y’all mfs are a whole ass news organization with a duty to responsibly report the news. This wasn’t just irresponsible or careless, it was intentional. Now that the real facts are about to come out, y’all gotta backtrack.

No more food from Rollin Roots for a little while… New chapter finally being opened!
Rollin Roots as you know it will be changing and transforming into a full blown non profit!
Being in the midst of a broken system has only fueled my fire much more to fight for necessary change. I cannot wait to show you all what I have in store. I am in an extremely unique position which will allow me to show you all the reality that the systems our country was built on are working as intended, and the intent is oppression.
This process to changing over fully to a licensed nonprofit will take some time, but in the meantime San Diego is the first city to taste the new menu for !!!!
Tomorrow we will be with with some dank ass vegan options on the menu!

We outside this summer!
Starting this upcoming week I will be offering late nite dining in San Diego!
Quantities will be limited, and first come first serve
I will post the schedule tomorrow, but I’ll be serving up chicken sandwich’s and Mac n cheese and a rotating special for your late nite fix!
Hours will typically be from about 9 pm to 1 am!
Pickup in Hillcrest for now and delivery will be available potentially.
I’ll be serving up in between learning how to be a lawyer for myself full time so the availability will vary!
I am exclusively serving in San Diego for the time being as a way to say thanks to everyone for who got me started! Despite a judicial system, police force, and small public community fueled by yt supremacy, I really wouldn’t be here without the true love this city has offered me countless times. I wouldn’t be able to stay so resilient without such support, so I’m grateful for every bit of it!
I’ll be pulling up with private dinners as well so shoot me a DM to inquire for your next event
I won’t be doing really any pop ups unless I get the farmers market started up again, however we will be serving all three days with our friends celebrating BLACK PRIDE with some dank ass vegan food.

The first two days of the late nite pop up are going to be next Monday and Tuesday July 3rd and 4th, and the remainder of the week will be dedicated to black pride weekend

Happy birthday from me today to the boy of yesterday.
Thanks for being who you needed to be in order to survive.
Thanks for standing in place for me so that I could arrive.
In 27 years I’ve been a foster parent, in the military, an owner of multiple businesses, homeless, lived in Mexico for 2 years, faced felony charges, traveled out of the continent multiple times, taken care of others instead of taking care of myself, stressed depressed wanting to end it all more times than I can count
Yet I survived.
For every day I thought I could not possibly wake up and survive another day, there was another filled with hope and purpose. Somehow everything is gonna fall into place as long as we keep walking.
Thank you to all of the past versions of me that held strong in the midst of starving for love, I’ve finally found it in abundance within and I’ll never let myself go without it for another day.
You are loved and worthy and deserving of every ounce of joy the universe places at your feet. Those that say otherwise are hurting so deeply they wish for you to hurt alongside them, remember to treat them with love and compassion.
Thanks friends and family for being pillars of support, reminders, and mirrors for me, it gave me the strength to face the grief and darkness within and find out it’s not so scary in the dark after all.
I wouldn’t trade one day of my past pain or experiences for the joy of today.
