30 years ago today, my uncle Mario and my dad, Hector Esquer took over Night & Day. This picture is from that day.
This little diner already had decades of Coronado history and that day it became part of our family’s story too. Thirty years of early mornings, late nights, familiar faces, bunch of chaos and a whole lot of memories around that counter.
And if these walls could talk… 😂 The crazy, CRAZY things this little place has seen. If you’ve spent enough time here, you probably have a Wild West story or two of your own. We know plenty of you do.
Over the years, my mom, Jody, also spent time running the café and poured so much of herself into this little place. Somewhere along the way, we even convinced Luis to join the craziness. In 2022, he and I took over, and getting to carry on what Mario, Hector, and my mom have put so much into means the world to us.
Through all the changes, Night & Day has stayed in the Esquer family. But the people who work here, the regulars who keep coming back, and everyone who has pulled up a stool over the years are such a big part of its story.
Thank you for supporting our family and making this little place part of your lives.

Before and during the parade, stop by our takeout stand for food and drinks to go. Indoor dining will be open throughout the day, and during parade hours we’ll have limited outdoor seating available.
