One of our most popular Brazilian bites was born during the 1700s. Enslaved African cooks on coffee and dairy farms didn’t have access to wheat flour. They used cassava (tapioca) starch, which was native to Brazil, and mixed it with cheese, eggs, and milk from the farms. That clever substitution created the first version of pão de queijo — long before baking powder or modern ovens and created pure magic. 🧀✨ Crispy outside, chewy inside, and full of love. 💛

This beloved Brazilian sweet was created in the 1940s and became popular during the presidential campaign of Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes. At the time, women sold the chocolate treats to support his run for office, and the name stuck.

Today, brigadeiro is more than a dessert — it’s a symbol of celebration, comfort, and Brazilian culture, enjoyed at birthdays, weddings, and every sweet moment in between. 🍫✨
