Sugar cookie cinnamon rolls… but make them naturally soft and gooey 😏✨

Picked up flour at (check the baking aisle – they always have 🔥 promos), and turned it into these sugar cookie cinnamon rolls with no heavy cream bath, no weird hacks… just good flour and the right ratios.

Let’s get into it 👇🏻

Dough recipe:

500 g Farmer Direct flour

75 g sugar

6 g salt

8 g dry yeast

1 large egg (about 50 g)

125 g milk

85 g butter, softened

Mix into a soft, slightly tacky dough. Let it rest (autolyse) so the gluten relaxes and the dough gets silky and stretchy. Mix again and let proof for about an hour.

Filling:

113 g butter (1 stick), softened

300 g brown sugar

½ cup sugar cookie mix

20 g cinnamon

Spread over rolled-out dough, then top with chunks of sugar cookie dough (store-bought or homemade).

Cream Cheese Frosting:

226 g cream cheese (1 pack), softened

½ cup heavy cream

1 tbsp vanilla

1 cup powdered sugar

Whip until smooth and fluffy, then slather over warm rolls.

Soft crumb, gooey center, sugar-cookie on top… no heavy cream bath needed. Just Farmer Direct flour from and a little patience 🧡
