The mystery is over. The scoop is not.

The mystery flavor was “Corned and Malted” — Brown Butter, Caramel, Corn Flakes, Malt, and Maple Syrup, all in one scoop.

For 24 hours, one flavor in our shops had no name, and 146 of you tried to crack it. Caramel led the guesses (67), maple came in second (20), brown butter barely registered (7), malt was a long shot (2), and corn flakes got a perfect zero.

Congratulations to Grant, who won free ice cream for a year — a scoop a day, every day. He was one of 96 entries, and his guess was the one we drew.

Hey neighbors — Comic-Con week means one thing at Wynston's: Superman is back.

If you've never had it, Superman is a Michigan cult classic — created by the Stroh's Brewery during prohibition — that swirls Blue Moon, cherry cream soda, and lemon vanilla into one red, yellow, and blue scoop. Chris grew up on it in Michigan, and once a year we make a single batch to coincide with San Diego Comic-Con.

It drops this Thursday, July 23 at both shops — North City (San Marcos) and Torrey Highlands (San Diego). One batch, no second run, gone when it's gone. Available by the scoop or the pint, in the shop or online at order.wynstons.com.

If you know a Michigander down here in San Diego, this is your reminder to make their whole week.

To get to the ice cream shop and ice cream parlor located on North City Drive in San Marcos, there are several options for transportation. If you plan to take public transportation, you can take bus route 101 or 352 which stops right by the location.

For those driving, take the exit for North City Drive from Highway 78 and head north towards the location. Parking is available in the shopping center parking lot where the ice cream shop is located. There are also nearby street parking spaces available if the shopping center lot is full.
